Finding God’s Strength When I Felt Overwhelmed

Life can feel overwhelming. Problems pile up, stress weighs heavy, and it seems like nothing will ever get better. I used to believe I had to handle everything on my own. But I learned that when I pause and ask for God’s strength, He carries me through.

At first, I didn’t know how to lean on God. I had spent so much time trying to control everything myself. Then, I found Al-Anon. The people there understood my struggles. They listened without judging. They shared their own experiences, and through them, I saw hope.

My sponsor played a big role in helping me trust God. She reminded me that I didn’t have to do everything alone. She encouraged me to pause when I felt overwhelmed and ask, "Where can I lean on God instead of myself?" The more I practiced this, the more peace I found.

The 12 Steps became a roadmap to finding my Higher Power. Each step guided me closer to the truth—I was never meant to carry my burdens alone. Through the steps, I learned to surrender my worries, make amends, and trust that God had a plan for me.

My home group gave me a safe place to share my journey. Week after week, I listened to others who had walked the same path. Their stories inspired me. Their faith showed me that God was working in my life, even when I couldn’t see it.

Now, when I feel overwhelmed, I pause. I breathe. I remember that I am not alone. I ask myself, “Where can I lean on God’s strength instead of my own?” And every time, He shows me the way.

If you feel lost or weighed down, you don’t have to do it alone. Al-Anon, a sponsor, the 12 Steps, and a home group can help. Most of all, God can help. All you have to do is pause and ask.

You gottawanna love with peace and joy. I love you and wish the best life ever.
